About Saint Martin's
A Catholic National School
St. Martin’s is a Catholic Co-Educational Primary School, located in Brittas, South County Dublin under the auspices of the Archbishop of the Dublin Diocese.
St Martin’s is situated just off the N81 between Saggart and Blessington. We are in the unusual position of being a Dublin school, but in a rural setting. At present we have four class Teachers, one Special Education Teacher and two Special Needs Assistants, providing education to boys and girls, aged between 4 to 13 years old, from Junior Infants to 6th class.
As well as delivering a varied school curriculum, we have a very active calendar which ensures our children get a well rounded education.
Mission Statement
Our Principles
Our school will endeavour to create an environment in which our students can work to their academic potential and develop into well rounded, responsible, independent citizens, with respect for self, others and the wider world.
We hope to achieve this by creating a safe, happy and caring school environment in which the co-operation of Partners in Education (i.e. pupils, parents, teachers and the community) promote the spiritual, moral, physical, emotional and cultural well-being of our pupils.
- Be Safe, be Happy, be Caring!

There are also various other vital assistant workers who fulfil the needs of the school. These include a School Crossing Warden, Music Teachers, P.E. Teachers, Cleaners, School Caretaker and others. There is a huge appreciation for all the work they do.
Extra Cirricular
Down Time!
To give the children the most rounded education, there has to be lots of ‘fun stuff’ too. Extra cirricular activities allow them to develop their physical and mental skills, plus bond further with classmates and staff. It’s important. Some of the activities we run each year are:
- Gaelic Football
- Hurling and Camogie
- Basketball
- Chess
- Traditional Music
- Safe Cycling
- Knitting
